Public Records

Oregon Public Records Law grants every person the right to inspect the records of a public body, unless exempt from disclosure. Many records are available digitally on the city’s website. If you are looking for a record not on the city’s website, please submit the Public Records Request Form. If you need assistance filling out the form or would like to submit a paper form, please contact city staff.

City staff will respond to all requests within five business days. Requests that require photocopying, redaction, or more than thirty minutes of staff time to locate and prepare the record will incur a fee. Staff will provide a cost estimate and will not proceed with the request until confirmation is made by the requester in writing. In addition, if the estimate is $25 or more, a deposit of the full amount is required before the request will be fulfilled. Download the Public Records Policy (below) and view our current fee schedule for more information.

The Tualatin Police Department has a separate process for police records requests. Visit the Police Records Request page for more information and to submit a request.
