Proclamations

A proclamation is an official, ceremonial document issued to honor, celebrate, or raise awareness for specific events or occurrences. Two types of proclamations are issued in Tualatin:

City Council Proclamation – A proclamation issued by the City Council during a City Council meeting. The proclamation will be read aloud and a ceremonial copy will be presented to the proclamation’s sponsor.
Mayoral Proclamation – A proclamation issued by the Mayor. These are typically not read during a City Council meeting, although a ceremonial copy may be presented in other settings.

City Council Proclamations

Requests for City Council Proclamations should be submitted at least four weeks prior to the date you would like it to be read. The City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month, unless otherwise noted. Generally, there is a limit of three proclamations per meeting. Selections are made in the order the requests are received. The City Council retains the right to decide if the proclamation will be issued or not.

Mayoral Proclamation

Requests for Mayoral Proclamations are at the discretion of the mayor. Mayoral Proclamations will not be read at City Council Meetings. Generally, they will be delivered via mail, email, or an in-person pick up at Tualatin City Offices (18880 SW Martinazzi Ave.).
